Many school districts in the State of Illinois use a 1 or 2 hour delayed start of school as an option for student safety for severe-weather related situations such as fog. Spoon River Valley School District is reminding parents/guardians of this late start option. With the recent heavy fog and severe winter weather conditions we have been having this year, the school district is encouraging you to make arrangements for your students if a late school start would be announced. Being prepared for snowdays or a delayed start of school is important for you, your family, and your student.
