Students in Mrs. McClaughry's English class brought a little March Madness to the world of Shakespeare! 📚🏀
They held a Shakespearean Slam, competing with some of the colorful language from the Elizabethan era. Students even got the chance to test out a few of the phrases on their teacher—don’t worry, they also practiced some Shakespearean compliments too!
Congratulations to Blake Hill for taking the championship! 👏

A few highlights from our FFA Week celebration (February 21-28)! Students had a blast participating in themed days and activities that celebrated agriculture, leadership, and school spirit. We’re proud of our FFA members and the positive impact they bring to our school and community. 💙🌾

A great day of learning for our future legal minds! ⚖️
Students attended WIU Supreme Court Day at Western Illinois University, where they watched oral arguments before the Illinois Supreme Court and had the chance to ask questions during a Q&A with a local attorney and two circuit judges.

Due to the unpredictable weather pattern this afternoon, all LVC and SRV after school practices and events have been cancelled for today (3/10/26).
Due to the timeline of the unpredictable weather this afternoon, after consultation with the National Weather Service and in an abundance of caution in an effort to get our students and buses off the roads before the weather threat, Valley will be dismissing students at 2 pm today.

These little readers rocked their Cat in the Hat hats on Tuesday as part of our Celebrate Reading – Dr. Seuss Week festivities.
This week at the elementary, we’re celebrating the joy of reading in a BIG way:
🧁 Monday – Cupcakes at lunch in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday
📚 Reading logs all week (PreK–2 tracking books read — including decodables and books read to them; 3–5 competing for most AR points!)
🍕 A Personal Pan Pizza for each class’s top reader
📖 Friday – Students get to choose a brand-new book from Mrs. Collier’s collection
So grateful to Mrs. Lori Harper for organizing this fun-filled week for our students.
