Last week, Kindergarten learned about community workers and how they help us! Thanks to Emma Hanlin for coming in and teaching us about her job as a firefighter!

We wanted to inform you that we do have cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease going through our athletic teams right now. That being said this is an issue that effects all three LVC schools.
We have been in consultation with the Fulton County Health Department and their recommendations to help prevent the spread of this contagious disease are as follows:
-students with sores, especially on their hands should stay home
-students should be 24 hours fever free without medication before returning to school
-students should cover coughs and sneezes
-all students should wash hands with soap and water frequently
Hand, foot and mouth disease is a common viral illness that can easily spread through close contact, contact with contaminated surfaces, respiratory droplets and bodily fluids. Symptoms may include fever, sore throat, mouth sores, and a rash or blisters on the hands, feet, or other areas.
Please monitor your student for any of these systems and get them seen by your primary healthcare provider if you suspect illness. If your child does present symptoms please keep them home until they can be cleared to return by your physician. This will help us prevent the spread of the disease.

Homecoming festivities are quickly approaching. I wanted to remind parents that we do not transport junior high students to the parades. Some junior high sports may participate but junior high students will need to have a ride to the parade and back home. Thanks so much and we hope to see you at Valley for the game on Saturday at 1:00
