Today is Autism Awareness Day. We try and be aware of all our kids differences and special needs but this is one I've personally dealt with for 16 years. Understanding starts with awareness.

Today the high achool Chemistry class shared some reaction demonstrations with some elementary students through fire tornadoes, ice cream making, colored flames and dry ice bubbles. Cool stuff!

Spoon River Valley students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will be participating in testing on Thursday, March 27th. Testing will begin first thing in the morning.
Grade 9 students will take the PreACT 9 Secure, Grade 10 students will take the PreACT Secure, and Grade 11 will take the ACT, which is a graduation requirement.
Seniors will be attending a special event at Spoon River College working on Employability Skills.
