On June 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM, a meeting conducted by Spoon River Valley CUSD #4 will take place at the high school in the boardroom. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the district’s plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools and home schools within the district for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are a parent of a home-schooled student who has been or may be identified with a disability and you reside within the boundaries of Spoon River Valley CUSD #4, you are urged to attend.

Tonight we had the opportunity to recognize our retire and award nominees. Lori Emken was our nominee for support staff of the year. Teresa Ellis was recognized for her retirement. Jennifer Burdette was our nominee for Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to all three of them!

This article highlights our partner high school in the Smithsonian Democracy in Dialogue Virtual Exchange Program, Hastings High School in New York. This semester, Jennifer Burdette's class was paired up with Hastings High School to hold virtual exchanges where the students discussed and researched local history. Mrs. Boyer’s third grade students did a terrific job at their annual Country Presentations today! 🌎🇺🇸🇫🇷🇯🇵 Students worked hard researching and representing their selected countries, and it was wonderful to see so many families and visitors come out to support them. Great job, third graders!

The LVC HS Track and Field program would like to congratulate our seniors on a great season! From right to left: Martina Rodriguez, Alexis Parker, and Ahnna Richardson Martina is a foreign exchange student from Spain at Spoon River Valley and this was her first season participating in track. Alexis and Ahnna are seniors at Lewistown High School. Alexis is a distance runner and has participated in track all 4 years of high school. Ahnna throws shot and discus and has participated in track all 4 years of high school. To our seniors, thank you for the dedication, leadership, and heart you have brought to our track team. Your hard work and support for your teammates have helped shape the culture of this program both on and off the track. From tough practices to long meets, you have set an example of commitment and determination that will not be forgotten. We are proud of all you have accomplished and grateful for the memories!
